Grade's Key People

Peter Dawson FISTD - Creative Director/Director

Graduating with a first class honours degree in Graphic Design
from Kingston University in 1992, Peter has over 15 years
experience within the design arena working for a huge range
of commercial and public service clients. Having worked as a
Designer and then Creative Director at a number of renowned
design companies before starting Grade. Peter has worked for
clients as diverse as 3i, Barbican Art Gallery, British Library,
Dell Computers, Garrard, Motorola, NHS Confederation,
Royal Mail, SONY, Thames & Hudson and Walt Disney.

Among the awards for his work are the Gold Federal Tait
Award, D&AD, Donside and the McNaughtons Review.

In addition to his role of running Grade, designing, overseeing
and directing Grade's creative output, Peter is a Fellow of,
and Deputy Chair of the International Society of Typographic
Designers (ISTD), an organisation with over 600 members
of designers and typographers worldwide. He has also held
part-time lecturing posts teaching typography and design
at Kingston University, Central St. Martins and London College
of Communications.
