Barbican: Life, History, Architecture

Celebrating the Barbican Estate, one of London’s most important modern landmarks, Barbican: Life, History, Architecture accompanied ‘The Barbican Exhibition: Building a Landmark’ (see Display) which traces the design and construction of the estate and arts centre by the architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon. The front cover marque was foil-blocked and matched in colour to the brass handrails that feature so prominently in the centre’s interior. The book includes commentaries by Tom Dixon, Mike Leigh, Jonathan Meades, Eric Parry and Vivienne Westwood.
