Michael Rakowitz:
Proxies for Poets and Palaces

Grade were delighted to be reappointed by the Stavanger Art Museum in Norway to create the branding, marketing materials, and exhibition graphics for Michael Rakowitz: Proxies for Poets and Palaces, by the renowned Iraqi-American artist. A key part of the project was the creation of a combined system of wall and floor captioning, providing background information for the numerous vitrines on display and allowing visitors to move through and around them with clear, accessible information close at hand (or should that be underfoot?). Graphics were also developed for the education centre within Studio Nona, supporting their creative workshop activities. All work was bilingual appearing in Norwegian and English. The show runs until March 2026.
